Phil Bangies Story

Hi this is Phil Bangie here.Family name Thomas. I come from the nature Isle of Dominica in the Caribbean from the town of Portsmouth. I have loved music from a tender age. My first instruments were the harmonica-mouthorgan and the tambourine.I can remember at age 5-6 years old bellowing my lungs out singing out to the world in my neighbourhood whilst banging on my tambourine. As I grew older I  moved onto strings and the guitar.I had many friends guide me on this musical journey and this love of music was and still is very strong in my soul.I am basically self taught from this strong self will. I joined small bands in my home town one of which was called "The Modules".I played rhythm guitar..Alvin Lawrence was the lead guitarist.I also played with a well known band called " The Milestones" as the bass player and back up vocalist.
Big ups to Alvin Lawrence,Marshall Lawrence,Fabien Victor,Eric Stow,Andrew Belloney,Ronal;d Hector,,William,Andy and Lincoln Lawrence. These were the guys I played and learnt with, thanks guys you are the best.
I love working with others but when that is not possible I play a one man show at a popular stage in Trellis Bay at the Trellis Kitchen/Cybercafe and Aragorns Studios.
I play other venues on Tortola, namely the Jolly Roger,
